I’m starting a new feature called Two for Tuesday—two short creative sparks to elevate your week. I hope you enjoy it!
Sketch, Don’t Plan:
Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks are brimming with quick sketches that captured his ideas in their rawest form. What can you explore in 30 seconds with just a pen and paper today?
A Design Detail
The double-stitched arches on the back pockets of Levis jeans were first introduced for functionality—to reinforce the fabric. Over time, they’ve become an iconic part of the brand’s identity. What functional detail in your work can you own and elevate into a signature element?
Until Next Time:
See you again on Friday for my regular roundup of creative takeaways from the week.
Until then, keep creating!

This is a brilliant idea. Two very insightful questions.
Something I could do with really owning at work is my organisation. Recently graduated from to-do lists to to-do ‘spider diagrams’ and never felt better about it 😂
Sketch Don’t Plan works great for ideas and writing too! Capturing tidbits of ideas into a notebook by longhand does wonders for the creative process, and makes it much smoother to compile longer pieces eventually. I’m so grateful for how good the OCR technology has gotten to enable that!
