"I’m a pretty terrible coder, but know just enough to think I can do it." That sounds like me...
"The areas where I’ve stood out have never had anything to do with my job description. They’ve had to do with the unique ways, I am unlike everyone else."
"Information abundance requires pattern recognition. It's not enough to collect facts. The future belongs to those who connect dots."
"If you’re questioning whether there’s an audience for your work, try to remember that the diversity of likes and interests among people is likely greater than you can possibly imagine."
Wow. Love your thoughts on the need for creative thinking and being brave enough to value your unique ideas and skills. We carry most of the facts that were once taught around in our pockets now. How to access that knowledge and use it in new creative ways is today’s challenge.
Great piece Michael with loads of food for thought. "It's not enough to collect facts. The future belongs to those who connect dots." This is great in terms of defining our value in this new AI world. I also like the "be the only" point - I can see how this would help students as it must feel so overwhelming when they think about how on earth they can make their mark. I think we're going to have to introduce brand new definitions of 'success' for people to feel they can even begin to contribute - it can't be about climbing the ladder or getting the next car/house/phone - we're going to explode with stress if we carry on like this.
I also LOVE the movie quote day! I'm not good at the quiz part but enjoy reading these incredible quotes and where they came from 👏🏻
Love the note about Adam Grant, and the feel of not being the only one who just started on Substack. I am here to share my doctoral journey, along with lot's of (I hope useful) entrepreneurship and innovation content, straight from my classes and mentoring sessions. So happy to "meet" a fellow entrepreneurship educator!

Again, lots of golden nuggets in one newsletter!
Thanks @Xinran Ma!

Don’t aim to be the best, be the only! I’ll remember this, thank you!
